NEET UG Scam 2024: Supreme Court Hearing, Parliament Discussion, Counselling Schedule.

NEET UG Scam 2024: The 2024 NEET Scam includes the multiple discrepancies that occurred in the conduction of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) (NEET-UG) 2024 examination. The examination is one of India’s biggest entrance examinations in terms of applicant numbers and is the sole nationwide examination conducted for admission in undergraduate medical programs.

There is no question that NEET and other competitive exams for higher education and recruitment exams for coveted jobs must be conducted with absolute integrity. A staggering 24 lakh students appeared to qualify for a mere 1 lakh seats (around 55,000 government seats).

NEET Paper Leak CBI Arrests

The CBI on Friday arrested the principal and vice principal of a school in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh in connection with the NEET-UG paper leak case, officials said.

Ehsanul Haque, the principal of Oasis School, was made the city coordinator of Hazaribagh for the medical entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 5, they said.

Both the accused came under scanner during a probe by the Bihar Police’s Economic Offences Unit (EOU) which was investigating the case earlier. The team had found burnt question papers of NEET-UG during a raid at a hideout of the solver gang, officials said.

NEET UG 2024 Supreme Court Hearing

The Supreme Court on Thursday issued a notice to the National Testing Agency (NTA) over the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 on a petition that claimed “inconsistent” calculation of marks. A vacation bench of Justices Manoj Misra and SVN Bhatti sought a response by July 8, when the hearing of the matter, along with other petitions in the NEET-UG controversy, will take place.

The bench asked the NTA’s response on the time limit to raise the grievances pertaining to the OMR sheets.

“Let us know if there is a timeline to provide the OMR sheets. As of now we will tag it. Let NTA seek instructions on this,” the court noted and tagged the petition with others for July 8.

During the hearing, the bench also pulled up coaching centres, saying they have “no role to play”. The plea was filed by a learning app
